How to Play Casino Hold’em

Poker is one of the most popular card games on the planet. It is way up there with Blackjack and Roulette in terms of popularity, and arguably, poker is more popular. Possibly for the simple fact, that poker is also a multi-player table game that is not played versus the house but played versus another player. However, that is not the case with Casino Hold’em.

Casino Hold’em is played versus the dealer or house at a casino table. As far its popularity goes as a casino table game, Casino Hold’em is certainly not as popular as baccarat, blackjack, or roulette. That being said, it is still a very popular casino game to play.

If you are a land-based casino player, then you will be hard pushed to find Casino Hold’em in a smaller casino. This is because the casinos tend to focus more on games that will turn over a larger profit, and it just so happens most people prefer other tables games to Casino Hold’em in most casinos.

However, as an online casino player, you will nearly always be treated to the chance to play online poker versus the house in the form of Casino Hold’em.

Casino Hold’em Hands

As the name implies, this game is based on the popular poker variation of Texas Hold’em. This is, however, more like Texas Hold’em pot limit, so forget the No Limit pot limits commonly attached to this game.

As for the hands playing Casino Hold’em, these are exactly the same as Texas Hold’em.

  • Royal Flush
  • Straight Flush
  • 4-of-a-Kind
  • Flush
  • Straight
  • 3-of-a-Kind
  • Two Pair
  • Pair
  • High Card

In order to make one of the hands above, you will need to use the 2 cards in your hand and the 5 community cards that are dealt out to you when you are playing Casino Hold’em. If these 7 cards available to you, you will need to make the best 5-card hand. If that 5-card hand beats the dealer, then you will the round of betting.

Betting When Playing Casino Hold’em

The number of betting rounds when playing Casino Hold’em is much less than Texas Hold’em. This is actually a good thing because betting on this game can get quite expensive – if you added an additional betting round, then you could be in for a hefty bad beat if the dealer sucks out a good hand on you. This would happen often too because the dealer does not have the option to fold.

  • Place an anti to see your cards
  • The dealer is dealt 2 cards and player is dealt 2 cards and 3 community cards
  • The player can continue by placing a bet double the amount of the anti
  • The dealer will now reveal the last 2 community cards
  • Whoever has the highest card will win the hand

The game really is as simple as that. You just need to place an anti and a continuation bet to see the final cards. Once all 5 community cards are out, you and the dealer will turn over your cards.
